What is a Steampunk Convention?
A steampunk convention is an organized gathering of steampunk lovers which stretches on continents and has been happening for many years. Bellow you will find a list of all known steampunk convention in USA, Canada, Europe and Oceania for 2018 and 2019 years.
Many vendors or merchants also attend these conventions and display their merchandise for anyone interested in upgrading their steampunk costume or to decorate their house as well as other various creative uses for steampunk themed self made projects.

How to prepare for a steampunk convention?
Usually, you will have to travel to another nearby or not so nearby city to attend a steampunk convection. That is, unless you are lucky to have organized in your home city. You will also have to reserve a hotel and pack your steampunk cosplay outfit in your suitcase to wear at the festival day.
Usually, convention organizer will make arrangements with the nearby hotel/s and give you all the details about prices for staying in the hotel, parking, breakfast/lunch as well as possible a shuttle service or other means of transportation to be able to get to the venue on time.
All this will require some planning on your part to make sure your experience at the steampunk fair is maximally enjoyable.
Also, don’t forget to get some information about the weather that you might be expecting. If there is a great possibility for raining you may even want to plan an umbrella as part of your steampunk outfit.
To prevent your precious gadgets and clothing to be damaged prepare yourself by getting some protective bubble wrap and other protective means to safely wrap your outfit during travel to and from steampunk fair.

The costumes are very varied, creative and lively. Most people come prepared with a cosplay outfit that is in character so to speak that they imagined or decided to emulate.
